Setting

There are two parallel / twin universes. The first one is Earth, and the second of them is the magical world of Terra.

Earth

  • When on Earth, the events of book 1 take place in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area.

    • Southern Maryland​

    • NW area of Washington DC

  • Alex Serpens and his friends begin studying at college.

  • Some later chapters take place on Earth as well.

Terra

  • At the end of Act 1, main characters arrive to the parallel world of Terra that resembles Earth but has significant differences.

  • Altea is Terra's equivalent of America.
    • United Countries of Altea (UCA)​, and its 50 country components.
    • New Brittany Countries region
    • New London Kingdom
    • Oxbridge Republic

  • ​Mages and non mages live side by side

  • Technology of UCA, especially New London Kingdom, resembles mid 1980s, although later Terran technology level rises to resemble that of Earth.

  • The world at large resembles the planet Earth, with some but significant differences.
